Taylor developed the symmetrical structure of the first movement – a virtually independent piece within the Symphony thanks to its nearly thirty minutes length. Maestro Bernardo Breganzoni, conductor of the women’s and men’s choirs, was also well-advised in his choice of the soloists Eliana Fe (soprano) and Angela Göldi (alto)… The soprano solo, “Leise flehen meine Lieder durch die Nacht zu dir”, was another highlight of this varied festive concert.
